As other types of investment return of money with an acceptable margin is the core of venture capital investments. Having studied the VCs’ portfolio strategies, in this paper the top-tanked VCs who invest mainly their funds on the growth stage of smart building start-ups are analysed and impact of emerging disruptive technologies on VCs portfolio selection to the architecture and built environment start-ups are discussed.
