"Alterità" e "società" nella filosofia del diritto di Giovanni Gentile

From 1916 to 1943 Gentile has made to his philosophy of law changes and corrections very well represented by the change of perspective on the issues of ‘otherness’ and of ‘society’. The ‘dialectic alter-socius’ - introduced in "Genesi e struttura della società" - has often been interpreted as an innovation almost in contrast with his previous thesis. My aim in this paper is to show that the changes mentioned are less radical than it seems at first glance and must be interpreted as a clarification rather than a rift with Gentile's original theoretical position.
