The Author presents some features of Piacenza’s records in the IXth century; they are representative of significant relics of the juridical Roman world which coexist with Germanic themes and formularies. This case emphasizes Piacenza as a very important centre of juridical practice in the Italian High Middle Ages, where notaries reach new original results which are fruits of the integration between different and opposite civilizations.
