Narratives of Contemporary Art: toward an Other imagination Artistic and cultural representation does use migration themes as a subject and object of its creations. In particular, contemporary art seems to welcome and succeed in turning complex underlying concepts into substantial contents. Such basic task is of course conceived as a dialogue with the recipient, whose interpretation it is meant to elicit. The aim of the present essay is therefore that of discussing some contemporary works of art as an expressions of migration themes, taking as an example the oeuvre of Adrian Paci. Paci was born in Scutari (Albania) and came to Italy in the Nineties. Today he is one of the most important contemporary artists on the national and international scene. Paci’s work combines narrative and social reflection. His production is totally inspired by immigration. He declares his purpose as one set to investigate «the role of images in the novel of people’s existences». In fact Paci's art works show a universal exploration of human loss and movement inside space and time also as a consequence of the artist's exhaustive efforts in searching aspects of the human over great geographical distances.
