This article intends to discuss flooring and wall coverings of the Roman colony of Grumentum (PZ) as integral phenomenon of the monumentalization that affected the city from the beginning of the Ist century. The coverings, even though simple in nature, are associated with the main buildings of the Forum and represent, in many case, the only evidence.
