Gli obiettivi per lo sviluppo sostenibile e le biblioteche

In 2015, the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with 17 goals (SDGs) at its core, to which 193 member countries of the UN agreed. These goals aim at ending poverty, fighting inequality and stopping climate change. UN has been working also with many international institutions and associations among which library associations, particularly through IFLA. IFLA is taking on an active role in the Agenda, promoting libraries as a vehicle for SDGs. In Italy, the national network ASviS has been created to support the Agenda 2030 in all kind of institutions and the academic network RUS to support it in universities where it has many implications for research, teaching and third mission.

Nel 2015 le Nazioni Unite hanno adottato l'Agenda 2030 per lo sviluppo sostenibile, con 17 obiettivi (OSS) al centro, ai quali hanno aderito 193 paesi membri delle Nazioni Unite. Questi obiettivi mirano a porre fine alla povertà, combattere la disuguaglianza e fermare i cambiamenti climatici. L'ONU ha lavorato anche con molte istituzioni e associazioni internazionali tra cui le associazioni delle biblioteche, in particolare attraverso l'IFLA. L'IFLA sta assumendo un ruolo attivo nell'agenda, promuovendo le biblioteche come veicolo per gli OSS. In Italia, la rete nazionale ASviS è stata creata per supportare l'Agenda 2030 in tutti i tipi di istituzioni e la rete accademica RUS per supportarla nelle università dove ha molte implicazioni per la ricerca, l'insegnamento e la terza missione.
