Le letterature africane in Italia: prospettive da una libreria specializzata

Drawing on the experience of Libreria GRIOT in Rome - a bookstore specialising in African and Afro-diasporic literatures - this paper aims to retrace the recent history of the editing and circulation of African literatures in Italy from a peripheral perspective. From this perspective, the authors address one current phenomenon in particular: the growing interest in African literatures that, following three decades of being limited to a niche group of small, specialized publishing houses, now features in the catalogues of the big publishers.
