The study's main objective was to analyze the social and cultural specificity of the last link of Italian chain migration, ie addressed descendants, children or grandchildren of Italians who may be the second or third generation immigrants and followers, the emigrantes.La new basic thesis on which the investigation was based was the generational discontinuity point that allowed themselves to highlight the young Italians abroad characteristics. In this vein the key concepts to describe their life projects were flexibility, ubiquity and reversibility, features the migration path inscribed in the current postmodern society. The research is positioned in qualitative branch of sociology. The research focused on the biographical outlines of subjective experience. The results of these interviews were analyzed in the light of two fundamental concepts, namely the diaspora and transnationality giving reason of a polyphony among new generations of Italians abroad and allowed builders overcome an epic narratives of migrant to focus on the challenges the migration process imposes on young Italians abroad.
La investigación tuvo como objetivo principal analizar la especificidad social y cultural del último eslabón de la cadena migratoria italiana, es decir se ocupó de los descendientes, hijos o nietos de italianos que pueden constituir la segunda o tercera generación de emigrados y de los epígonos, los nuevos emigrantes.La tesis de fondo sobre la que se basó la investigación fue la de la discontinuidad generacional, punto de partida que permitió resaltar las características propias de los jovenes italianos en el extranjero. En este orden de ideas los conceptos dominantes para describir sus proyectos de vida fueron flexibilidad, ubicuidad y reversabilidad, características que inscriben el camino migratorio en la sociedad postmoderna actual. La investigación se posiciona en la rama cualitativa de la sociología. La investigación se concentró en los lineamientos biográficos de la experiencia subjetiva. Los resultados de tales entrevistas se analizaron bajo la luz de dos conceptos fundamentales, a saber el de diáspora y el de transnacionalidad que dieron razón de la polifonía existente entre las nuevas generaciones de italianos en el extranjero y permitieron superar las narraciones que edificaban una épica del migrante para concentrarse en los desafíos que el proceso migratorio impone a los jovenes italianos en el extranjero.
