The drawing of the city of Rome by L.B. Alberti presents some singularities that do not seem to be due to the simplicity and reduced accuracy of the instruments he used, but rather suggest the presence of procedural complexity in the survey. Through today's digital simulation tools (high tech), able to retrace back a critical selection of the relevant experimental data made by Alberti with the tools of the time (low tech), and guided by the observation of singularities, the research contributes to providing solid clues on the original survey project.

Abstract
The drawing of the city of Rome by L.B. Alberti presents some singularities that do not seem to be due to the simplicity and reduced accuracy of the instruments he used, but rather suggest the presence of procedural complexity in the survey. Through today's digital simulation tools (high tech), able to retrace back a critical selection of the relevant experimental data made by Alberti with the tools of the time (low tech), and guided by the observation of singularities, the research contributes to providing solid clues on the original survey project.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
