Abstract
According to most of the historians, the term “Cold War” refers to a specific historical period which begins in the immediate aftermath of World War II, when both United States and Soviet Union assumed an increasingly international accountability by claiming a greater recognition of their role in shaping the new international system after the war, until the collapse of Soviet Union in 1991. There is no doubt that from the post-war scenario stemmed a bipolar contraposition, but this periodization tends to consider the Cold War as a static event, suggesting that the alliance between United States and Soviet Union went beyond the contingencies created by the war. The Cold War, on the contrary, did not represent a specific period of the twentieth century, but it should be thought as an evolutionary process which has started at the turn of the century with the crisis of American-Russian relations in the Far East and that it intensified with the Bolshevik RevolutionFile | Dimensione | Formato | |
