«Un film delizioso»: Le lettere di Ottavia di Luigi Malerba

The essay recovers, presents and analyzes thematically and stylistically «Le lettere di Ottavia» by Luigi Malerba appeared in «Cinema Nuovo» in 1956 and then collected in 2004 but still not sufficiently studied by critics. These «letters» precede the first appearance in volume of Malerba, «The discovery of the alphabet» of 1963, and therefore constitute an auroral, original and interesting narrative debut in epistolary form and already show some of the stylistic features that the writer developed in the following years. «Le Lettere di Ottavia» also testify to the Malerba's interests and attendance of the cinema environment in the Rome of the Fifties.

Il saggio recupera, presenta e analizza tematicamente e stilisticamente «Le lettere di Ottavia» di Luigi Malerba apparse sulla rivista «Cinema Nuovo» nel 1956 e poi raccolte in volume nel 2004 ma ancora poco studiate dalla critica. Le lettere precedono di diversi anni la prima apparizione in volume di Malerba, «La scoperta dell'alfabeto» del 1963, e dunque costituiscono un aurorale, originale e interessante esordio narrativo in forma epistolare e mostrano già alcuni dei caratteri stilistici che poi lo scrittore svilupperà negli anni. Inoltre testimoniano interessi e frequentazione dell'ambiente del cinema romano negli anni Cinquanta.
