The essay deals with the issues related to the inclusion of a new scale in a historic building, as part of the restoration project. The paper analyzes the solution performed in the palace 'Crepadona' in Belluno and showcases highlights that the reconfiguration of the lift system to the plans, closely related to the accesses, the routes and the use of indoor environments is the central theme of the new use of the space and the architectural character of the monument, to meet the needs of an intended use that is respectful of his historical and artistic values but responsive to the needs of contemporary life.
