This essay retraces the project interventions in the town hall of Pontecorvo, including the earthquake of 1915 and the reconstruction after the Second World War. Distribution, structural and formal solutions of the various projects that transformed the building were analyzed on the basis of the unpublished note attached to the 1919 project and the archival records, giving specific relevance to the role of Gustavo Giovannoni between 1925 and 1927 and the partial restoration of 1945-1948. The study sets out an overview on how to operate on the architectural relics of the past and minor historic centers damaged by war, accounting the actual state of the city hall of Pontecorvo.
