Abstract

Authors outline the data from the Copper Age cemetery of rock cut tombs at Camerano (Ancona). It was excavated in the seventies and it has been recently reconsidered, after the radio- carbon dates of some skeletons and the anthropological analysis promoted by the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici delle Marche having been carried out. Thanks to a comparison with other adjacent cemeteries of rock cut tombs too, a sequence of tombs and skeletons from Came- rano is suggested, bearing in mind chronological as well as of different kind factors conditioning the selection of grave goods: e.g. horizontal subdivisions, specific locations inside the cemetery, local variability.
