The increase in female employment is associated with a greater presence of women, especially in certain categories of work. There is a greater exposure to the specific risks for woman of the examined sector, considered even more dangerous in certain situations such as pregnancy and lactation. It is documented by a rich scientific literature the existence of a close correlation between infertility, abortions, malformations, prematurity and work exposure to physical, chemical and biological agents. The Legislator establishes specific preventive rules aimed to promote family and to protect the health and well-being of working mothers.
