Codici, incunaboli e contesti culturali a confronto in una casa romana del secondo quattrocento

An unpublished archival source allows us to discover the library of the rector of a small Roman parish. The ways and phases in which this library - made upnof some thirty, mainly printed and legal works - was formed over a thirty years period in the fifteenth century are taken up here. A well-known printer and several copyists, along with some foreigners who owned other, philosophical, texts, presumably in manuscripts, lived in the rector's house. The presence of a such varied group of people unde ìr the same roof offers an opportunity to reflect on the reciprocal relations between cultural worlds which are apparently far apart
