The University of La Sapienza develops a line of research that explores the relationship between theory and practice of architectural project in the historic centers, raising questions of great interest for the development of our cities through an international and interdisciplinary discussion, based on the idea that working in cultural heritage can be no limited on certain monumental or emergent elements of the city, but the application to the historic urban fabric of the methodologies and processes related to project onto the existing may be the way of making cities more sustainable and aware of their own capacity and identity.
