Abstract

The mental image is detected quickly through sketches and drawings made by the classical methods of descriptive geometry. At the same time, designers develop 3D digital models of numerical and mathematical nature, at first intended to capture the shape, then more detailed to make the artifact constructed. The rapid succession of different models, also requires the presence of the prototype, for a clear evaluation of the shape. Changes made on the physical model must be introduced into the computer through the process of Reverse Engineering. Exactly at this point exist a break of the cycle, because variations on the prototype should be reported quickly and intelligently on the designed CAD model. You can define the Designe's Tree. The balanced objects and expressive ones are divided according to the softness of the features. In soft objects is not possible to identify clearly where the entire form ends. There are no clear edges where the differently oriented surfaces meets, to help drawing the character of the form. To correlate the changes made on the prototype with the mathematical representation of the project, the points cloud acquired through 3D survey, should be investigated to find the characteristics of its internal structuring geometry: the plane of symmetry and the axis of revolution. With these information, you can align the survey of the prototype to the mathematical design and update the changes made in the traditional way.
