The relevance of Lanzoni's contribution to hagiographic methodology and studies was rightly emphasized by Historiography. The essay proposes a path that tries to keep the formation related, the refinement of a methodology and historical-critical knowledge peculiar to the connections concerning the story of the accusation of “modernismo”, to identify some characteristics of Lanzoni’s hagiographic sensitivity.
