Antidoping indirect screening test for testosterone abuse is based on the urinary testosterone to epitestosterone (T/E) ratio and on the evaluation of other markers such as the Androsterone to Ethiocolanolone (A/Et) ratio. T/E ratio shows very high levels of inter-individual variation, it mainly depends from testosterone glucuronide excretion. Genetic polymorphisms in the uridine diphospho-glucuronosyl transferase (UGT2B) gene family have been associated to this variation and it is becoming useful to proceed to the genotyping of samples in order to better understand the extraction urinary pattern of steroids. The aim of this study was to compare some steroids excretion markers with human genotypes in a database of caucasian individuals by the application of sensitive methods for the genotyping of copy number variant of the UGT2B17 gene and a common single nucleotide polymorphisms of the UGT2B15 gene
