We have read with relevant interest and attention the manuscript by Mack et al,1 entitled “Patient-reported outcomes after open carpal tunnel release using a standard protocol with 1 hand therapy visit”. The authors assessed the effects after this particular surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, in 134 patients who underwent 1 postoperative hand therapy visit. They based the evaluation on the Boston Carpal Tunnel Questionnaire, a self-reported outcome measure, analyzing symptoms and functions.
