We have read with relevant interest and attention the clinical tudy, by Borire and colleagues, entitled ‘‘Sonographic differences n carpal tunnel syndrome with normal and abnormal nerve con uction studies”[1]. The authors evaluated, by ultrasound (US), he median nerve dimension, at carpal tunnel inlet and at mid orearm, in patients with clinical diagnosis of carpal tunnel syn rome (CTS). A neurophysiological examination was performed nd the patients were classified in three degrees of CTS severity. hey found that normal findings in nerve conduction study could e associated to nerve enlargement at US evaluation. For this rea on, they conclude that US should be considered an adjunctive xamination in CTS suspicion. The paper is very important for clinical practice and research urpose.
