This paper summarize the birth and the disappearance of the dönmes as visible and organized community and, at the same time, the persistence in Turkey, within religious and/or nationalist circles, of prejudices and conspiracy theories targeting them.
Questo contributo riassume la nascita e la scomparsa dei dönme come comunità visibile e organizzata e al contempo la persistenza in Turchia di pregiudizi e di teorie complottistiche contro di loro da parte di ambienti religiosi e/o nazionalisti.
