.Sir—In the Primary Prevention Project trial (Jan 13, p 89),1 the investigators assessed the effect of an antioxidant strategy in a population with at least one risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Patients received 300 mg synthetic vitamin E daily and were followed up for 4 years. No effect on cardiovascular events was noted.
