Abstract

A study of Bþ c → KþK−πþ decays is performed for the first time using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb−1 collected by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. Evidence for the decay Bþ c → χc0ð→ KþK−Þπ þ is reported with a significance of4.0 standard deviations, giving σðBþ c Þ σðBþÞ × BðBþ c → χc0πþÞ¼ð9.8þ3.4 −3.0 ðstatÞ 0.8ðsystÞÞ × 10−6. Here B denotes a branching fraction while σðBþ c Þ and σðBþÞ are the production cross sections for Bþ c and B þmesons. An indication of bc¯ weak annihilation is found for the region mðK−πþÞ < 1.834 GeV=c2, with a significance of 2.4 standard deviations.
