The contribution presents the various aspects of Icelandic literature after the introduction of the Lutheran Reformation, from the religious hymns of Hallgrimur Petursson to the birth of a new Nordic folklore and the spread of magic books. Numerous Icelandic manuscripts attest to new formulas and magic letters (galdrastafir), in which the ancient tradition of runes and spells is enriched with other continental and Mediterranean elements, such as the Magic Square.
Il contributo presenta i vari aspetti della letteratura islandese dopo l'introduzione della Riforma luterana, dagli inni religiosi di Hallgrimur Petursson alla nascita di un nuovo folclore nordico e alla diffusione di libri di magia. Numerosi manoscritti islandesi attestano infatti nuove formule e lettere magiche (galdrastafir), nelle quali l'antica tradizione di rune e incantesimi si arricchisce di altri elementi continentali e mediterranei, come ad esempio il Quadrato magico.
