Lo stile di Rossano. Culture grafiche tra metropoli e periferia

Manuscripts Venice, Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, gr. Z.101 (coll. 428) and Oxford, Bodleian Library, Auct. T.2.2 were completed respectively in 1065 and 1067 in the monastery of the Theotokos Evergetis in Constantinople by the monk and presbyter Gregory. The handwriting of Gregory, as well as that of his brother Gerasimos, can be usefully compared with the so-called style of Rossano, which flourished in the monastery of Saint Mary New Odigitria, even known as Patir, between the end of the 11st century and the beginning of the 12nd, especially with the handwriting of the monk Bartholomeus. This palaeographical affinity urges to reconsider the problem of the style of Rossano’s origins
