Ash-shurafā’ aṣ-Ṣiqilliyyīn – Il valore dell’eredita’ storico-culturale siciliana in Marocco. Riflessioni su una migrazione antica fra identità immutate ed identità in trasformazione.

The genealogical sources relating to Arab-Muslim Sicily and its relations with the Maghreb al-Aqṣa in medieval times constitute a precious instrument of inquiry to understand the cultural complexity of the Mediterranean area. These sources underline, among the many subjects of inquiry, the historical and social significance of the relationship between Sicily and present Morocco during the twelfth century, and the still curious, extraordinary, existing sharing of some cultural heritage. Through an overview of the spread of the Arab genealogical branches of Sicily in Fez, we will observe: the reasons, the places, the times and especially the impact of the migration of the SiciliansShurafá' on the creation of identity and maghrebin society in terms of family prestige and genealogical power; their contribution to the debate between the Malikite school of Sicily and Malikite schools in Baghdad, Cairo, Qairawān and al-Andalus. The article, therefore, focuses on genealogical data and the emblematic case of the current Arab-Sicilian cultural heritage in Morocco. It is the result of an ancient migration that however marked the path of identity growth of al-Maghreb al-Aqṣā: a plot of historical memory, traditions and dislocation that sees in transformation a salvific path of preservation and dialogue.

Le fonti genealogiche relative alla Sicilia arabo-musulmana e ai suoi rapporti con il Maghreb al-Aqṣā in epoca medievale costituiscono un prezioso strumento d’indagine per comprendere la complessità culturale dell’area mediterranea. Esse sottolineano, fra le tante tematiche d'indagine, la rilevanza sotto il profilo storico-sociale dei rapporti tra la Sicilia e l'attuale Marocco durante il XII sec., e la tuttora, curiosa, straordinaria, esistente condivisione di alcuni lasciti culturali. Attraverso una una panoramica sulla diffusione dei rami genealogici arabi di Sicilia a Fes, si osserveranno: le ragioni, i luoghi, i tempi e soprattutto l’impatto della migrazione degli shurafā’ siciliani sulla costituzione della identità e della società maghrebina in termini di prestigio familiare e simbolico; il loro contributo al dibattito fra la scuola malikita siciliana e le scuole malikite site presso Baghdad, Cairo, Qairawān e al-Andalus. L'articolo, dunque, pone l'attenzione su dati genealogici ed il caso emblematico dell'attuale lascito culturale siculo-arabo in Marocco. Esso è il frutto di una migrazione antica che tuttavia ha segnato il percorso di crescita identitaria de al-Maghreb al-Aqṣā: un intreccio di memoria storica, appartenenza, tradizioni e dislocazione che vede nella trasformazione un salvifico percorso di preservazione e dialogo.
