Myxomas comprise 50% of all benign cardiac tumors in adults and only 15% of such tumors in children. The peak incidence in nonfamilial myxomas is between the fifth and sixth decades of life; they are more frequent in women and 94% of tumors are solitary. Most myxomas are round or oval, pedunculated, and polypoid, and they cause hemodynamic derangement (obstruction of pulmonary or systemic venous drainage or impairflowacrossatrioventricularvalve), embolism(30–45% in left-sided tumors, 10% in right-sided tumors), and constitutional manifestations. Myxomas occur in any cardiac chamber but they have a predilection for the left atrium (LA). Left atrial (LA) myxomas generally arise from the atrial septum at the border of the fossa ovalis but can originate from anywhere within the atrium [2], including the posterior wall, appendage, free wall, and pulmonary veins (. Table 1; [2, 3]). According to the scientific literature, an atypical localization of LA myxoma is rare, has a low incidence, and is often associated with familial syndrome such as Carney complex.
