In my brief presentation, I intend to focus on the ancestral services performed on the Internet, a common practice in modern Asia. I argue that: 1) the practices of offering food and services to ancestors via online reflect recent changes in Asian society and culture; 2) the online ancestor service users are transforming and modernizing the secular tradition into a new religious practice and in doing this; 3) they are creating an Asian community based on common social, cultural and religious needs in cyber-space.
