The University of Rome “La Sapienza” was founded in 1392 by Pope Bonifacio VIII and has almost all the important faculties with a high level of education. The Italian Institute of Oriental Studies (ISO) is unique institute in Italy offering the Bachelor, Master and PhD. degree in Korean studies. The students majoring in Korean language course are required to complete, besides language, the study on philology, linguistics, literature, art, culture and history. PhD students are selected at national competition and during 3 years of their research have to participate to monthly meeting and seminars and complete the dissertation with the tutor.
