Abstract
The earthquake that hit central Italy seems to have a negative impact on positions, well-established for decades, which identify the increase in resistance limited but consistent with the need for conservation of monuments ('structural improvement' instead of 'adaptation') as an appropriate practice for structural interventions historic building. A mere technicality trend, tending mainly to the formal determination of a structural warranty, could impose itself on conservation requirements which are essential for a country guardian of great historical heritage buildings. It seemed appropriate to trace the cultural evolution that led to the current positions to reaffirm their value; at the same time we were mentioned some general problems and gaps in the training of architects who turn away, even for the complex regulatory and technical, a task entrusted to them institutionally. A final reflection is dedicated to the introduction into the legislation of possible corrective factors of the project aimed to greater compatibility of the intervention and lead the computational aspect toward a more balanced significance. Finally, reaffirming the appreciation of ‘structural improvement’, it mentions some hypotheses for precautionary interventions on historic structures, widespread but minimal and economic.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
