Reviving a time-honoured academic tradition, the present Latin homage to Professor Claude Gilliot aims to celebrate his 75th birthday. In the first lines, the reasons for such a deliberately outmoded choice are explained, by hinting at Professor's Gilliot passion for Latin as a scholarly and liturgical language. In the second part of this homage, some milestones along the scholarly path of the present volume's dedicatee are pointed to.
