Ipotesi di recupero della Cava di Casal Rotondo

The contribution examines the hypotheses of possible intervention on the recovery of the open quarries, leading to verify, through various project explorations, possible configurations for the Casale Rotondo Quarry. Drawings, schemas, renderings, technical drawings and texts document the place and the operations to test, with particular emphasis on: the access areas, the areas for events, the recovery of the old farmhouse. The project is presented through its main objectives: • accessibility • functional continuity and fluidity • safeguarding perceptual values • soil design • energy and water saving • safeguarding ecological networks Among the main topics, intervention categories and concepts: • the recovery of the "basalt paths": pedestrian paths and routes, made of basalt slabs • the "places of industry" transformed into temporary structures for events • the "narrative lines": signs and driving elements made of corten steel • set designs The "written-graphic" contribution explores some of the possible design developments for Casal Rotondo Quarry. It is the task of verifying its contextual compatibility, its functional and formal outcomes, the economic feasibility, the nature of materials and the nature of the details.

Il contributo esamina le ipotesi di possibile intervento in tema di recupero delle cave a cielo aperto, portando a verifica, attraverso diverse esplorazioni progettuali, gli assetti tracciabili per la Cava di Casal Rotondo. Abaci, schemi, renderings, disegni tecnici e testi illustrativi documentano il luogo e le operazioni ad esso rivolte con rilievo particolare: alle zone di accesso, alle aree per gli eventi, al recupero del "piazzale superiore" ove sorge l'antico casale.
