Starting from the Manifesto of Futurism and the marginal avant-garde, the book aims to highlight the main trends that European avant-gardes have drew out from Italian Futurism. It is not just about reconstructing the genesis and evolution of the avant-garde theory, but also to pinpoint how different movements in the different linguistic-cultural areas have developed different artistic processes and different results and values, though inspiring by a common principle. The book analyzes different disciplines, from literature to music, from cinema to architecture, from painting to politics. Such theories and practices of various arts are a conceptual asset because they experience and sometimes anticipate many of the issues that are now of extreme relevance: from the man-machine relationship to the word-image relationship, from the definition of Urban spaces to the question of war, from the search for mono-cultural identity to the takeover of the existence of the alien and outsider. These constellations, with their specificities and their variants, redesign a topography of experimentation and require the rethinking of interpretative categories of the 1960s such as those of the "two avant-garde" and "reactionary modernism". The book also aims at focusing theoretically on the centrality of Nietzsche's thinking that the various authors have adopted, used and opposed, each in his own way. But the hypothesis of a transmutation of all values and of all the artistic languages would not have been conceivable without his philosophy.

Abstract
But the hypothesis of a transmutation of all values and of all the artistic languages would not have been conceivable without his philosophy.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
