Potenza di Eros e potenza dell'essere

The contribution deals first with the meaning of Eros in Plato’s Symposium, stressing his role of mediation. Then moves on to the analysis of the figure of Diotima as the one that leads to an understanding of the metaphysics of Plato, proceeding beyond the reflection of Socrates. Through the analysis of Jaeger, Rist, Reale e Cavarero about the figure of Diotima, the paper attains to highlight the role of the priestess as the one who, as a woman and sacred figure, introduces the theme of generativity, central in the thinking of Plato .

Il contributo affronta prima di tutto il significato di Eros nella presentazione che Platone ne fa nel Simposio, sottolineando il ruolo di mediazione che gli è proprio. Si passa poi all'analisi della figura di Diotima come colei che conduce alla comprensione della metafisica di Platone, procedendo oltre la riflessione di Socrate. Attraverso l'analisi di Jaeger, Rist, Reale e Cavarero in merito alla figura di Diotima,si giungerà poi ad evidenziare il ruolo della sacerdotessa come colei che, in quanto donna e figura sacra, introduce al tema della generatività, centrale nel pensiero di Platone.
