Pittoresco e Purismo. L’emergere del soggetto e altre analogie a distanza

Parallel to the architectural work of Le Corbusier unfolds a constant theoretical reflection, sometimes in line with the times, most often in advance on his own time. In particular this text focuses on the desire and effort that Corbu makes to transform the architecture as an object concluded by itself, in an element to be machined and measure for the human perception. It goes so paving the way for the emergence of the subject. If the text of Kaufmann, "From Ledoux to Le Corbusier", anchored Le Corbusier to Beaux Artes tradition, his approach to the picturesque opens the way to the contemporary architecture. The emergence of the spectator in one of the fundamental aspect of picturesque aesthetic is: the architecture is not linked only to the creative side of the work of art, but takes also into account the fruition side.

Parallela al lavoro architettonico di Le Corbusier si dipana una costante riflessione teorica, talora in linea con i tempi, più spesso in anticipo sul suo stesso tempo. In particolare questo testo si concentra sulla volontà e lo sforzo che Corbu fa per sbilanciare l’architettura da oggetto concluso in sé a elemento da lavorare e misurare in rapporto alla percezione umana. Si va così aprendo la strada per l’emergere del soggetto. Se il testo di Kaufmann "Da Ledoux a Le Corbusier" ancorava l’architetto alla tradizione Beaux Artes, il suo avvicinamento al Pittoresco apre strade che proprio nel contemporaneo si stanno manifestando con chiarezza. L’aspetto fondamentale dell’estetica pittoresca è l’emergere della figura dello spettatore, cioè una riflessione non solo legata al lato creativo dell’opera d’arte, ma che prende in considerazione anche il lato fruitivo.
