This chapter addresses the difficulty in preserving digital information over the long term with its inherent risks of loss or corruption, and how the ITtust project is generating the theoretical and methodological frameworks necessary to develop local, national, and international policies, procedures, and standards that is able to ensure public trust in digital records. in support of this goals, the Authors show the model established for Preservation as a Service for Trust (PaaST), based on a set of requirements that establish a foundation for trusting preservation of digital information.
