This miscellaneous volume gathers studies on linguistic developments in the recent context of migration in Europe, with a focus on France, Germany and partly Italy. Scholars from these three countries investigate, from sociolinguistic points of view or through critical discourse analysis, on the phenomenon of new mixed languages of youth (parler des banlieues, Kiezdeutsch) as a result of increasing contact between indigenous languages and ‘other's’ languages, spread by generations of immigrants. To which extent national languages are reinvented in multicultural environments? And what implications do these developments have on concepts such as nation or native language? The ensuing debate about identity and otherness arises in a context of complex dynamics among multiple actors and various discursive levels (street, literature, media, politics).

Abstract
The ensuing debate about identity and otherness arises in a context of complex dynamics among multiple actors and various discursive levels (street, literature, media, politics).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
