L’infill architettonico. Risposte in cerca di domande

The meaning of an infill project is not built through the exercise of an ideal order, but through elements that touching , brushing, approaching, overlapping, offer themselves as resonating juxtaposition in the discontinuity of space and time of the city. So it is one of the possible answers to the question: if and where continuing to build. The answer is, first of all within the parts already urbanized consolidated, equipped with a network infrastructure of the historical city, with good accessibility and of a number of services (facilities?). The topic is then clarified through the design action that it implies in the present case, namely a real timely volumetric injection to re-define, over the new building itself, the geomorphological limits of the fabric, and any other quality of the context. A common point of view in the reflections raised in seminars / workshops was the quality of the identified voids and then, on these, calibrating the grafts intended to assure certain requirements: urban quality, architectural quality, housing and environmental well-being.

Il contributo introduttivo commenta le esperienze didattiche del laboratorio di Sintesi finale sul tema dell'urban infill e pone alcune questioni di teoria e tecniche della progettazione nella città costruita che ripete l'idea storica della sovrascrittura e della stratificazione che ragiona sui vuoti come intervalli cui conferire qualità tra i ritmi dell'edificato.
