The SEISMOCARE project is presented which aims at developing an integrated methodology and a software package to support the seismic risk mitigation decisions for a town and for its future expansions. This is done through the implementation of a comprehensive software simulator managing the seismic hazard, the vulnerability of structures and the loss estimation. The simulator integrates data and models at various levels of detail according with available data and cost constraints, with the aim to provide a practical tool for responsible authorities.
