Il controllo ideologico sui media in Cina nell’era del web mobile: uno studio preliminare

This essay is a preliminary study of the strategies employed by the Chinese government to tighten its control over the media in the era of the mobile Internet. In the first section, statistical figures show how the development of mobile technologies has played an important role in bridging the digital gap between rural and urban China. This part will be followed by a discussion of a rising academic debate on the spread of the so-called "negative information" within the Chinese new media environment, often focused on the role of mobile messaging applications. As conclusion this essay will offer a brief outline of the new set of guidelines, issued by the government between 2014 and 2015, to manage online public opinion and exert ideological control over the usage of the mobile Internet.
