The Science and Technology University of Hanoi, one of the most important Campuses which represents excellence in Vietnam, lies at the northern outskirts of the city. For this natural peculiarity of the area, It is characterized by large lake areas. the campus is conceived as a city and as a park, a social and cultural space and at the same time a sustainable and efficient environmental system. The Campus is a network of interconnected systems: culture, architecture, infrastructures, landscape and environment. The design choice is based on a two-party system: on one hand a university town as an urban fabric, and on the other hand a landscape as an enveloping and intact system that enhances the value of the pre-existing environment. The park sets off and interprets the site and context, transforming a marshy area into a landscape made up of a natural forest system, equipped green areas, dew ponds for sporting activities and drainage channels. The campus has a park-like structure. Architectures, squares, paths, lines and stretches of water, green areas , everything is perfectly integrated and interconnected to create a space that can be expanded over the years, always guaranteeing high standards in terms of living and comfort, and its University campus is pedestrian-oriented. Distances can be easily covered on foot, by bike and over water. The campus is a "zero emission transport Campus". The paths, where the pedestrian and cycle paths develop, have a linear arrangement and are organized in parallel strips along which the buildings of the different faculties are arranged and at the end of which there are the specific elements of the residential towers. The orientation of the strips takes into account the prevailing easterly winds, which favour ventilation, Along the boulevards are walks and cycling routes (access is allowed only to service cars). Green spaces penetrate the paths with a strong emphasis on integration between the park and the University campus. Along the main road, at the meeting of these different systems, there are the most representative buildings and the heart (square) of the campus will lie along the main path, that interconnects the various parts of the campus from teaching, to research, to residency.
Il testo tratta del progetto del Campus Universitario di Scienza e Tecnologia (USTH) ad Hanoi in Vietnam, l’area prescelta è alla periferia Nord di Hanoi, fortemente connotata da elementi naturali. È caratterizzata da grandi aree lacustri. E’ a partire da questi elementi che si struttura il progetto per il Campus, concepito come città e come parco: spazio di relazione e di scambio culturale e sociale e al tempo stesso, sistema efficiente e sostenibile dal punto di vista ambientale. Il Campus è inteso come una rete di diversi sistemi interconnessi: cultura, architettura, infrastrutture, paesaggio e ambiente. La scelta progettuale si basa su un sistema bipolare: da un lato una città universitaria come tessuto urbano, dall’altro un paesaggio come sistema avvolgente ed ecologicamente efficiente. Il parco valorizza e interpreta il sito e il suo contesto, trasformando il territorio acquitrinoso in un paesaggio caratterizzato da sistemi boschivi naturali, aree verdi attrezzate, bacini d’acqua per le attività sportive e una serie di canali di drenaggio. Il Campus si contraddistingue per la forte vocazione paesistica; architetture, piazze, percorsi, linee e specchi d’acqua, spazi verdi disegnati e naturali, sono fortemente integrati e interconnessi creando uno spazio continuo che si evolve nel tempo, garantendo sempre elevati standard di vivibilità e comfort ed è pedestrian oriented: le distanze sono agevolmente percorribili a piedi, in bici e in via d’acqua. Il campus è un “zero emission transport Campus”. I viali dove si sviluppano i percorsi pedonali e ciclabili, hanno una giacitura lineare e si organizzano per fasce parallele lungo le quali si sviluppano i corpi di fabbrica delle singole facoltà, al termine delle quali vi sono gli elementi puntuali delle torri residenziali. L’orientamento delle fasce tiene conto dei venti dominanti che provengono da est favorendo la ventilazione, mentre il verde penetra con continuità nello spazio dei viali ponendo l’accento sulla forte integrazione tra il parco e la cittadella universitaria. Lungo l’arteria principale, all’incontro tra questi diversi sistemi, si collocano gli edifici più rappresentativi e il cuore-piazza della città universitaria diviene il town center, uno spazio urbano centrale che interconnette le varie parti del campus dalla didattica, alla ricerca, alla residenza.
