Speaking of iconographies of war in the Ancient Near East immediately -it could be even said automatically- recalls to mind the huge amount of pictures of war of the Assyrian period. In fact, each Assyrian king recorded his military deeds and success in sculptures in the royal residences of the Assyrian capitals, mainly dealing with the visual narratives of his campaigns of conquest, fights and sieges.
