The city is a social product outcome of processes and interactions, both tangible and intangible, stratified in the history and in human affairs, above all of its inhabitants. You can define three levels or modalities in which the inhabitants give rise to alternative practices and produce meaningful projects. Firstly, there is a dimension connected to urban practices, in other words the way in which the inhabitants live and use space in everyday life. When urban practices become collective and organized they translate into structured forms of appropriation of the city, and this is the second dimension on which I wanted to pay attention. Seen from another point of view, and this is the third dimension, the processes of reappropriation and resignification of the city can be supported by forms of self-organization, ie structured and self-produced forms of social organization aimed more or less intentionally to the construction and management of the space and activities that take place there.

Abstract
The city is a social product outcome of processes and interactions, both tangible and intangible, stratified in the history and in human affairs, above all of its inhabitants. You can define three levels or modalities in which the inhabitants give rise to alternative practices and produce meaningful projects. Firstly, there is a dimension connected to urban practices, in other words the way in which the inhabitants live and use space in everyday life. When urban practices become collective and organized they translate into structured forms of appropriation of the city, and this is the second dimension on which I wanted to pay attention. Seen from another point of view, and this is the third dimension, the processes of reappropriation and resignification of the city can be supported by forms of self-organization, ie structured and self-produced forms of social organization aimed more or less intentionally to the construction and management of the space and activities that take place there.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
