Tourist texts have always played a key role in the promotion of travel destinations. Without the accounts contained in these various text types many locations would never have become as popular and relevant as they are. Thanks to the discourse of tourist promotion many anonymous resorts have acquired a distinctive image and others, already well-known, have been permitted to renegotiate their identity. In any case it has always been a matter of weaving the places into diverse narrative textures capable of highlighting their natural or acquired values. The identity of a place is mainly a discursive entity moulded by the modes typical of story-telling. In order to be visited, a place needs to be narrated in a credible and alluring manner. Greimas’s notion of narrativity acquires therefore a fundamentally important and explicative value throwing light on those semiotic mechanisms which build up the places of tourism by narrating them in a convincing and passionate form.

Abstract
Greimas’s notion of narrativity acquires therefore a fundamentally important and explicative value throwing light on those semiotic mechanisms which build up the places of tourism by narrating them in a convincing and passionate form.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
