The chapter provides an overview on international migrations on the Mediterranean countries trying to disentangle the major changes occurred since 1950 taking into account the changing demographic, economic, political and social panorama during the years. After offer a periodization of the migration on the Mediterranean, the chapter, using a descriptive approach, looks on detail on some recent evolution of the phenomenon e.g.: high qualified migration trends, temporary and circular migration trends, unauthorized migration trends and figures, the demographic evolution of Mediterranean countries and its impact of international migration in the region.
