Management of chest wall deformities in adults is still controversial. Cosmetic and psychological problems along with cardiopulmonary derangement represent the main indications for surgical correction. Two surgical approaches are currently considered as viable options: open and minimally invasive repair. Both techniques have been modified during the years and show advantages and potential disadvantages with comparable results. The choice of the type of approach should be decided on the base of the morphology of deformity, functional aspects and surgeon’s experience.
