This volume attempts to take stock of the question of epoché. Various tasks have to be accomplished : a) the recognition of the extent of the semantic area of the word ; b) the exploration of the history of the idea ; c) the study of its function within the phenomenological context ; d) the analysis of the concrete practice of the epoché. Throughout the great variety of approaches, a clear line of demarcation can be established : some authors consider epoché as a synonym for phenomenological reduction, some others insist on the philosophical relevance of its independence from it. In any case, epoché reveals itself as the theoretical practice of openness.

Abstract
This volume attempts to take stock of the question of epoché. Various tasks have to be accomplished : a) the recognition of the extent of the semantic area of the word ; b) the exploration of the history of the idea ; c) the study of its function within the phenomenological context ; d) the analysis of the concrete practice of the epoché. Throughout the great variety of approaches, a clear line of demarcation can be established : some authors consider epoché as a synonym for phenomenological reduction, some others insist on the philosophical relevance of its independence from it. In any case, epoché reveals itself as the theoretical practice of openness.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
