The study focuses on the stage representations of operas (such as Semiramide by G. Rossini and Nabucco by G. Verdi) and the need for the preparation of realistic stage settings for the stories. In particular, the study investigates how the archaeological discoveries in Assyria, from 1842, actually changed and influenced the content of the representation with the direct quotation of the archaeological remains that were reaching the European museums in the very same years.
